CASAC online courses - The Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) is an important professional in the addiction field. Cazenovia College is approved to offer the 350 clock hours of the Education and Training requirement for the CASAC credentialing. The 350 clock hours are offered as a certificate program in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling.

Mercy College CASAC-T Program is an OASAS Certified Education Training Program whereby the courses have been approved by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), thereby satisfying the educational requirements for state certification. Courses are non-transferrable to any credit bearing program. Program Highlights. All courses are offered online with the exception of 18-hours of “Skills Seminars” to practice what you have learned. Students are required to purchase two books that they will use throughout the program.

The continuing requirement for six hours of OASAS approved ethics training will be required upon every renewal. If you are applying for the CASAC Advanced Level or CASAC Master Level under the Counselor Scope of Practice, a total of 30 hours of Clinical Supervision training must be completed and submitted.

Each 14-week CASAC course is held at both the Manhattan campus on a different weeknight and Saturday mornings; and another course is held Saturday afternoons at MCNY Bronx.

350-Hour CASAC Training Program. Outreach Training Institute (OTI) provides the education needed to become a CASAC. Students who complete CASAC training with OTI hit the ground running with the educational foundation.

Clinical Supervision Training Requirements. OASAS will be requiring completion of thirty hours of approved clinical supervision training to get Advanced and Master Counselor status.
