BCCC online courses - Online courses are taught via the Internet and comprise at least 80 percent of online semester contact hours. Students may be required to take exams on campus to ensure the integrity of the tests. Students communicate with their instructors and with one another asynchronously (not in real time) through Canvas, the course management system used at the College. Course documents, assignments and projects are exchanged through Canvas.

Of that, the distance learning opportunity (online degrees/courses) is given to 6 programs - 1 Certificate, 5 Associate's. Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) students can now reduce their textbook costs to near zero through Open Educational Resources (OER) courses. OER is part of a State and nationwide effort to reduce college costs for students by adopting open resource instructional materials that include, but aren’t limited to, textbooks, videos, lessons and assessments.
Many classes consist of two (2) lessons per week for a total of twelve (12) lessons or the equivalent of twenty-four (24) contact hours for 2.4 CEU credits. Please remember, the only time constraints associated with BCCC’s Continuing Education online classes is that all lessons must be completed during the eight-week period your class is offered.
